Mos(que) hysteria
We’re having trouble understanding the hyperbolic outrage over the plan to open a community center and mosque two blocks from the World Trade Center. There has been a mosque in Tribeca four blocks away since before 9/11 and we’ve heard no objections to it, nor have we noticed any problems there.

The 16th annual Taste of Tribeca fundraiser for P.S. 150 and P.S. 234 went off without a hitch last Saturday. Events included a dumbling cookoff between Tribeca Grill and Macao Trading Company. Sponsoers included Whole Foods and Häagen-Dasz. The event highlighted the vitality of both the resturant community and Tibeca.

The Battery Park City Authority says Brookfield Properties owes them millions of Lehman Brothers dollars collected after the investment bank left Lower Manhattan.
