Thompson tapped to lead B.P.C.A.
Feb. 18, 2010 A spokesperson for Gov. Paterson’s told us that the governor is naming Bill Thompson to be the next chairperson of the Battery Park City Authority. Paterson hopes the State Senate confirms Thompson on Wednesday. Thompson, the former City Comptroller and mayoral candidate, until recently had veto power of the Battery Park City surplus funds. Last year, he was very critical of Paterson’s plans to use the city funds to help the state budget. Authority chairperson Jim Gill left the board last week.
