Cube disappearance

Gwen Deely went to Astor Place Tuesday to take a picture of the cube sculpture in the snow only to discover it had been removed. “I have been coming here for two years to catch it in different light and different weather,” said a disappointed Deely. Parks Commissioner Adrian Benepe, said the sculpture, The Alamo by Tony Rosenthal, needed some repairs and will be back shortly. “The City has not forgotten The Alamo,” Benepe said in a prepared statement. “It will be returned to Astor Place better than ever.”
