Winter fair at P.S. 234
BP.S. 234 will host its annual Winter Fair on Saturday, Feb. 5 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., featuring food, crafts, games, a book sale and a rummage sale.
Proceeds will go to the schools Parent Teacher Association to use for enrichment programs. Additionally, this year the fair will feature a childrens crafts table, where student-created items ranging from t-shirts to origami will be sold to raise money for victims of Decembers Asian tsunami.
In an announcement posted on the schools Web site, principal Sandy Bridges said that by contributing to tsunami relief, the students will become part of the effort to help others across the world, just as people reached out to P.S. 234 after the Sept. 11 attacks.
There will also be crafts from local artists for sale at the fair.
Other highlights will include performances by the schools musical groups in the auditorium starting at 1 p.m., and the P.T.A. plans to unveil a new line of P.S. 234 clothing and accessories.
In addition to students and parents, school officials are encouraging the public to attend. P.S. 234 is located on 292 Greenwich St.
