Grinch at City Hall

East Village activists enacted The Grinch who stole CHARAS on the steps of City Hall Tuesday to protest the pending demolition of most of the CHARAS/El Bohio community center building on E. 9th St. The city sold the building to developer Gregg Singer under former Mayor Rudy Giuliani and the group hopes Mayor Bloomberg landmarks the building to block Singer’s plan to build a college dormitory there.
