John Street felt like Rue de Jean July 14 as Les Halles restaurant celbrated Bastille Day with Can-Can dancers, traditional waiters races and other activities. Jake DeAngelis, sitting atop some husky shoulders, bottom left, greeted Penny England, who was dressed as Frances most famous gift to America, Lady Liberty. Celine Gardinier, a waiter on vacation from Sweden, took a busmans holiday and won the female waiters race and Michael Padin, also from Sweden, won the mens race.
