The River to River Festival features about 500 concerts and events runs from May 28 – Sept. 30. Here are some of the highlights:

RIVER TO RIVER FESTIVAL PRESENTS

SUMMER STARS 212-346-1715. In collaboration with Pace University and Classical Action, the series presents classical music at Michael Schimmel Center for the Arts of Pace University at One Pace Plaza. All events are free but tickets are required, advance tickets available at the Schimmel Center box office. Featuring Kit Armstrong, Imani Winds, Demarre McGill with Hugh Sung, Natasha Paremski, and more.


HUDSON RIVER FESTIVAL:

The world Premier of the “Grand Step Project” by Stephan Koplowitz takes place at the Winter Garden June 15.

ROCKEFELLER PARK hosts some of the festival’s headliners, including the Neville Brothers, Roy Hargrove and RH Factor, Chris Thomas King, Old 97’S, Tierney Sutton and Curtis Stigers, and the Ohio Players,


WORLD FINANCIAL CENTER PLAZA, This year performing: Ladysmith Black Mambazo, The Black Keys, The Fountains of Wayne, Luciana Souza and Lila Downs, and many more to be announced.

WAGNER PARK will host several well-known Latin musicians and singers, including Hector Tricoche and Bahia, Ray Sepulveda, Larry Harlow & the Latin Legends Band, and Oro Solido.

SOUTH STREET SEAPORT: Pier 17, 212-SEAPORT

Seaport Music Festival, on Pier 17, 212- SEAPORT. 6 p.m.-9 p.m. This summer featuring Erin McKeown, Ted Leo/Pharmacists, w/Sons & Daughters, Jose “El Canario” Alberto, Sufjan Stevens w/The Silent League, The Frames w/The Kennedys, Nellie McKay, Black 47, Donna the Buffalo, Goldrush and more.

Bloomberg Blues Jam, the popular long-running series at 1 p.m. This year featuring Chris Whitley Bobby Blue Bland, The Bad Plus w/The Mosquitos, Sonny Landreth, and more.


MUSIC at CASTLE CLINTON:

EVENING STARS;

An array of modern dance companies performs under the stars on the Lawn at Battery Park. Performing over the summer are Battleworks, Doug Varone and Dancers, Momix and Philadanco, Savion Glover, Buglisi/Foreman Dance, Limon Dance Company, Paul Taylor Dance Company, Chinese Folk Dance Company, Forces of Nature Dance Theatre, and Sean Curran Company’s I Folk Dance for the Future.
