A board game made of gold

Only on Wall Street could one find a solid, 23-karat gold plated board game. And of course, that game would be the one and only Monopoly. The game set, complete with 18-karat gold game pieces, and valued at $2 million, will be on display at the Museum of American Finance for two years.

Jeweler Sidney Mobell, in designing the set, pulled out all the stops. The top hat and monocle wearing character in the center of the board has diamond cuff links and a diamond bow tie. Mobell donated the set to the Smithsonian, a sister organization of the museum on Wall Street.
