Making a statement
Hip-hop mogul Russell Simmons is in activist mode, once again using the windows of his apartment overlooking Ground Zero to send a message. During the 2008 election, he used his windows to campaign for President Obama. And now, he’s taking on the debate surrounding Park51. The word “coexist” is displayed using different religious symbols as a means to promote harmony and respect for all faiths.

And the action in front of the proposed site of Park51 is not slowing down either, as supporters and opponents of the project alike are there nearly every day waving signs hoping to get their point across to passersby.
