At 9 a.m. on July 21 the Municipal Art Society of New York and Manhattan Community Board 1 will co-sponsor “Land Use and Local Voices: Is the City’s Land Use Process in Need of Reform?” – a panel discussion on New York City’s land use process and reform proposals.

The keynote speaker will be Eric Lane, professor of Public Law and Public Service at Hofstra University School of Law and Senior Fellow at the Brennan Center for Justice at NYU Law School. From 1986 to 1989 he was executive director of the New York City Charter Revision Commission and in 1990 he chaired the New York City Task Force on Charter Implementation. C.B. 1 Chair Julie Menin will interview him.
