Liu will host a celebration of on Wednesday, May 12, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Surrogate’s Courthouse, 31 Chambers St. The event is free and open to the public. Comptroller Liu stated: “Asian American leaders of today are breaking barriers through life-long activism and community empowerment. We will celebrate their social, economic and cultural contributions to our neighborhoods that have helped shape the City of New York.” The celebration will honor numerous, distinguished members of the Asian American and Pacific Islander communities.
