City seeks input on traffic study

The New York City Department of Transportation will be holding a public meeting with Community Boards 2 and 3 on the Bleecker, Houston, Bowery Traffic and Transportation Study, bounded by Essex St./Avenue A to the east, Mercer St. to the west, E. Fifth/E. Eighth Sts. to the north and Spring St./Delancey St. to the south.

The study’s goal is to improve traffic circulation and enhance safety for all road users while addressing community concerns. The study will assess area traffic and transportation conditions, and identify short- and long-term safety improvements. Issues such as land use, traffic congestion, pedestrian and cyclist safety, truck activity and accidents will be studied in detail. The public input session will be held Thurs., May 6, starting at 6:30 p.m., at the Bowery Mission Chapel, 227 Bowery (between Rivington and Stanton Sts.)
