A Rosie is a Rosie is a Rosario
From left, Rosie O’Donnell, Councilmember Rosie Mendez and Rosario Dawson pitched in at an April 12 benefit reading of selections from Eve Ensler’s newest book, “I Am an Emotional Creature: The Secret Life of Girls Around the World.” Held at P.S. 122, at First Ave. and Ninth St., the event featured 20 teenage members of the Lower Eastside Girls Club. Mendez introduced the reading, Dawson directed it and held a Q-and-A afterward and O’Donnell was among the attendees. Ensler chose the Girls Club to be a pilot site for the “I Am an Emotional Creature” reading and curriculum, which promotes youth-led activism around issues of violence against women.
