Scottish celebration
Tartan Week got off to a musical start Downtown with a concert Monday evening in the British Memorial Garden featuring Laura McGhee, MacTalla Mor, A Whiskey Kiss and the New York Scottish Pipes & Drums. The party then moved over to Stone St., where kilted bagpipers provided a soundtrack for those enjoying the restaurants and warm weather. Tartan Week culminates this Sat., April 10 in the city’s 12th Annual Tartan Day Parade, which will march up Sixth Ave. from 45th St. to 55th St. starting at 2 p.m.
