Plaza looks to connect Downtown This revamped version of Federal Plaza could open as soon as 2012, with a new staircase, more trees, a fountain and marble and granite benches. The raised plaza at Worth and Lafayette Sts. beside 26 Federal Plaza can feel disconnected from the streetscape, and the $16.2 million project is designed to correct that. The General Services Administration had to redo the plaza because water was seeping into the belowground parking garage. The plaza could close for construction as soon as this spring. |
