Saunterers are set to kick off

Shorewalkers will hold its 24th annual Great Saunter, a 32-mile walk clockwise around the edge of Manhattan Island on Saturday morning May 2. The event starts at 7:30 a.m. at Fulton and South Sts. at the South St. Seaport and ends there about 12 hours later.

Walkers may also join at various points along the route, including at a 9:45 a.m. press conference at the Circle Line Pier at W. 42nd St. at 12th Ave.; at 11 a.m. at the bus stop in Riverbank State Park near the park’s north end atop the water-treatment plant at W. 145th St.; at 1 p.m. at the flagpole in Inwood Park at Manhattan Island’s northern end; and at 4 p.m. in Carl Schurz Park on the East River Promenade at the park’s south end at E. 84th St.

The finishers will congregate after 7 p.m. at Heartland Brewery at Fulton and South Sts.
