Tribeca Film Festival 2007
The carbon-neutral premiere
The Tribeca Film Festival may not be sustainable throughout its two-week-long stint in the city, but it made a minimal impact on April 25. Following are some of the ways it went green on opening night.
All large signs were printed on biodegradable fabric instead of vinyl, using soy and corn-based inks.
The Red Carpet was made of organic, completely biodegradable fabrics.
The generators were powered with bio-diesel fuel.
Remaining carbon emissions were offset by the purchase of carbon credits.
The furniture at the after party was sustainably made.
The food came from local, free-range, organic farmers, and was served on reusable or biodegradable platters, along with utensils and glasses. Excess food was given to shelters.
