Snowshow art rained out
To mark the second anniversary of the start of its run at the Union Square Theater, members of the play Slavas Snowshow planned to set up 100 ice sculptures in the Spiegeltents beer garden at the South St. Seaport and invite the public to decorate them with carrots and scarves. Unfortunately, due to a rainy morning and the fact that it was August, after all the ice sculptures became unstable and the event was cancelled. The dozens of broken and melting ice sculptures were placed on their sides and allowed to melt. Above, one of the shows ice sculptors kneels next to some of her melting creations.
