Radio daze

Nazim Uddin shows two of the car radios a thief left when Uddin caught him trying to steal the radio out of his cousin’s car in front of 179 Essex St. on the evening of May 7. Uddin called police and tried to keep the burglar in the car until they arrived, but the man got, pulled a knife and took a swipe at Uddin’s cousin, according to witnesses. The thief dropped his bag, containing seven radios, and fled before police arrived. Uddin lives in the neighborhood and works at a small Bangladeshi grocery store and also services lottery machines.
