Coast washes away
The last glasses and equipment at Coast restaurant were auctioned off Tuesday. Eric Tevrow, who also owns Fresh in Tribeca, hadn’t closed a restaurant in his 30-year career until he opened Coast across from the World Trade Center site after 9/11. “People, when they’re done working, they want to get out of there,” Tevrow said last year after he closed the seafood place on Liberty St. “I don’t care if you’re the best restaurant in New York, you’re not going to be a destination down here. Until you see some building going on, you’re not going to find that.”
