To some it may have been Christmas, but at the historic Eldridge Street Synagogue, Sunday night was the first night of Hanukkah and the Lower East Side temple celebrated with their 10th annual Klez for Kids concert featuring the Klezmerfest band. At right, Hanna Griff, deputy director for programs of the Eldridge Street Project, held the menorah after the first candle was lit. The project has almost completed the renovation of the 1887 synagogue building.
