9A reconstruction open house
An open house regarding the reconstruction of Route 9A is to be held on Wednesday, November 30, 2005 at The Museum of Jewish Heritage. The plan, currently under way, includes a landscaped Promenade located between West Thames Street and Battery Place, and highway improvements near the World Trade Center site and surrounding areas.
At a recent community board meeting, parents and board members expressed their interest in maintaining many of the activity areas theyve grown accustomed to, particularly in West Thames Park. The park currently has basketball courts, a dog run, a tot lot and community gardens. Some residents voiced a desire to see tennis courts added to the mix. There is not space to accommodate all activities there, however. Concerned residents are encouraged to come and learn about the latest developments in the State Department of Transportations project.
The meeting will be at the Museum of Jewish Heritage, 36 Battery Place. Wednesday November 30, 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
