Protesting beauty

There she is… protesting against Wal-Mart. Carolyn Sapp, Miss America 1992 from Hawaii, joined labor leaders and politicians at City Hall Tuesday to drum up support for the “Love Mom, Not Wal-Mart” campaign, asking shoppers to buy Mother’s Day gifts at other stores. Wal-Mart is currently defending itself against a class-action sex discrimination lawsuit filed by many of its female employees. Council Speaker Gifford Miller and Councilmembers Christine Quinn and Margarita Lopez also attended the demonstration.
