Postal demonstration to end lines

The Church St. Post Office at Canal and Church Sts. is offering free demonstrations 8:30 a.m.-5 p.m. Tues. May 10 on how to use personal computers to do almost anything that can be done in person, said Elvin Mercado, area manager at the station. Demonstrators will show how to print postage, mail packages and arrange for following day package pickup at no extra cost using the www.usps.com website.

The Church St. station is open with full service from 7 a.m. until midnight and the lobby with access to boxes and automated postal centers is open after midnight until 7 a.m. Despite the scaffolding on the front of the building, patrons may enter after 7 p.m. at the center door at 90 Church St. Security personnel are in the building 24 hours a day, Mercado said.
