Master Song in Chinatown
Peking Opera star Master Song Chang Rong, 70, made his grand entrance at the Museum of Chinese in the Americas Saturday after spending hours getting dressed as a woman, above and at left. Master Song, considered a legendary performer from China, is one of a diminishing number of opera stars who practivce Nan Dan, where males play the female roles. About 80 people squeezed into the museums tight space for the performance. Below, audience member Odile Weissenborn, right, dressed up as a clown with performer William Lau.
