The Downtown Little League’s Mariners tried on their new uniforms and worked out on Pier 25 in Tribeca last Monday as the Battery Park City fields were being prepared for Opening Day, April 9. Above, Leighton Brillo-Sonnino, 9, practiced pitching as teammates Sam Ryman, 9, left, and Josh Blaney, 11, looked on with Sam’s little brother. Below (L-r): Austin Bell, 9, Oren Shore and Nashawn Kearse, 10. Teams have been practicing and will be marching to the fields from City Hall Saturday before the first pitches and games.
