The Downtown NYC River to River Festival 2003
Presented by American Express returns for a second year to entertain New York with more than 400 events over five summer months – and most of them are free! This year’s highlights include the festival kickoff concert in Battery Park with the Godfather of Soul James Brown on the lawn at Baterry Park City, a July 4th concert featuring Ryan Adams and music at the World Financial Center by Patti Smith. Other major performers include the Radiators, Spoon, Joshua Redman and Cassandra Wilson. In dance, Streb, TwylaTharp Dance Company, and Martha Graham Dance Company are all scheduled. And there is fun for the whole family as well; River to River has terrific kids events planned including the annual Children’s Day at South Street Seaport featuring the beloved Elmo.
