Parking assault?
A woman accused of running over the foot of a police officer while he was writing her a parking ticket Sun. July 13 at 4:30 p.m. was charged with assault. Police said the suspect, Jennie Taylor, 33, was double parked in front of 17 Battery Pl. and ran over the cops foot while attempting to avoid the ticket.
Canal St. dip
A woman told police that while she was making her way through a crowd on the south side of Canal St at Mercer at about 4 p.m. Sun. July 13, a thief managed to open her backpack and steal her wallet with credit cards and $60 in cash.
Tribeca burglary
A Tribeca resident found the door to his storage basement at 100 Reade St. was broken at 5 p.m. on Sat. July 12, police said. A burglar took his bicycle and a set of golf clubs worth a total of $5,000.
Bags gone
Two women lost their bags which they had left on the backs of chairs at two Downtown restaurants last week, police said. A thief took a bag with $70, a camera and credit cards from a customer at KFC on Chambers St. at 3:30 p.m. Sat. July 12. At Niko Niko, Pearl and Wall Sts. at 3 p.m. Fri., July 11, a thief took a customers bag with $10 in cash, credit cards and her drivers license.
Franklin break-in
A burglar forced open the side door of W.D. Lockwood & Co. at 81 Franklin St. sometime between 9 a.m. and noon on Sat. July 12 and stole $100 in cash, police said.
Hudson Sq. burglary
A resident of 117 Varick St. told police that she returned home at 8 p.m. Sun. July 13 from a weekend trip and found the skylight in her apartment broken and her computer gone.
