An argument in front of 50 Murray St., between W. Broadway and Church St. around 3:15 a.m. Sat., Aug 13 ended with two men in Bellevue with minor injuries, police said. The two victims told police the suspect, Christian Lopez, 23, punched them and hit them in the head with a bottle. Lopez was charged with felony assault.
A man who works at 8 River Terrace in Battery Park City parked his motorbike in front of the building around 9:30 a.m. Thurs., Aug. 11 and returned at 7:45 p.m. after work to find his blue Yamaha bike valued at $6,000 had been stolen.
Shooting a show
A Queens man, 27, told police he was filming a night scene for a television show in the Financial District around 12:30 a.m. Fri., Aug.12 and put his backpack down nearby at the corner of Ann and Water Sts. When he returned a short time later, the backpack, along with an iPod, charger and his driver’s license were gone.
Phone from sleeper
Transit police arrested Brandon Sylvers, 27, in the E train station at Fulton and Church Sts around 6:30 a.m. Sat., Aug. 13 and charged him with stealing a cell phone from a woman passenger who had fallen asleep on a train.
A Brooklyn woman, 69, went shopping in Soho on Saturday afternoon Aug. 13 at Max Studio clothing boutique at Spring St. and W. Broadway when she discovered that her wallet, with her driver’s licenese, debit cards and $300 cash was missing from her bag along with her cell phone, police said. The victim called her cell phone number a short time later and a stranger answered, police said.
Soho phone snatch
A Brooklyn man, 24was walking down Greene St. between Spring and Prince Sts. talking on his cell phone around 7:30 p.m. Fri., Aug. 12 when a thief grabbed the phone from his left hand and ran north on Greene towards Prince St., police said.
A woman patron of Anchor Bar at 310 Spring St., was about to pay for her drinks at 1:30a.m. Sun., Aug 14 when she discovered that her Louis Vuitton bag, along with her Blackberry, Canon camera, U.S. passport, credit cards and a prescription medicine had been stolen.
Locker room theft
A New Jersey man who works in the Financial District, went fro a brief workout at New York Sports Club, 30 Wall St., around 11 a.m. Thurs., Aug. 11, locked his clothes and valuables in a locker and returned about 45 minutes later to find the locker had been open and his wallet with credit cards, driver’s license and $250 in cash had been stolen. The victim, 51, waited four days before reporting the theft, police said.
